Discovering Yourself in Your 20s and 30s

What's identity anxiety?
It’s the mental and emotional weight that comes from asking big questions like “Who am I?”, “What do I like or want to do?”, or “What matters?” For many men in their 20s and 30s, these thoughts can become overwhelming—especially when you’re expected to have it all figured out. It’s hard to untangle the mental knots around identity, values, and purpose.

Why does this all come up now in my twenties or thirties?
A lot of us in our twenties and thirties find ourselves thinking more deeply about who we are—especially after a big move, career change, or the end of a relationship.
Once you're out of grow-up mode, you finally have space to reflect on what you’ve been through and how it’s shaped you. That might mean revisiting past experiences, questioning old beliefs, or trying to make sense of things like breakups, family dynamics, masculinity, identity, or what you actually want out of life.

How do I support your identity development process?
I’ll help you navigate identity, values, and life direction without the pressure to have it all figured out.
In therapy, we will sort out your values, relate famous models of development to your life (ie Joseph Campbell’s the ‘Hero’s Journey’ and Erikson’s Stages of Development) support you as experiment with new activities and beliefs, and help you develop a sharper sense of self.
